How to add paneling to a flat door

Don't want to spend a fortune replacing your plain, flat panel doors? Try this simple DIY!

Supplies Needed 1/4" plywood (ripped down to 4" strips Sander Nail gun Saw Drill and arbor bit Wood filler and paint

Align the plywood strips along the outside edge and evenly spaced in the center. Cut to size and secure with a nail gun (wood glue is optional).

Sand down the rough edges of the plywood, and use a drill with an arbor bit to cut a hole for the door handle.

Fill the nail holes, sand and and caulk along the inside edges for a seamless look.

Finally, rehang the door and paint. You'll need to adjust the door casing slightly to accommodate the added door width.
