Can you believe it has been more than four years since I first revealed our Heights House primary bedroom? I’ve loved this space so much that very little has changed throughout the seasons and years. But after finding the most perfect shade of burgundy-brown paint in my Ikea Malm nightstand hack a few months ago, I decided our nightstands needed a makeover. And one thing leads to another…
This change inspired something else I’ve had my eye on for a while now. I fell in love with SaraLe’s TwoPages curtain collection—in particular, the Porcelain SL-J8 (also available on Amazon).
The delicate floral design adds a touch of elegance and romance, giving the room a more elevated feel. While our old ivory velvet curtains were nice, these bring a new level of character and charm to the space.
With the introduction of a pattern on the drapes, the rug had to be swapped out for a simpler design. I’ve been seeing scalloped edges everywhere lately, and I was excited to incorporate this trend with Loloi’s new hand-tufted wool Scottie rug.
The curved edge adds just enough detail without competing with the curtains.
I kept my beloved linen duvet and waffle weave quilt, and updated the accent pillows with these patterned euro shams and olive green velvet lumbar.
The mix of texture, color and pattern layered together make the bed feel extra luxe and cozy.
I scored these nightstands at a consignment store years ago, and they’re still one of my best secondhand finds. High quality solid wood with tons of storage, the perfect size and timeless design. The old paint job wasn’t holding up very well, so they were overdue for a refinish.
Ganache by Little Green was the perfect choice, don’t you think? Such a rich color that adds much needed depth and contrast to the space.
Overall our room feels softer and more feminine, with more of a distinct personality than before. I’d like to think that it has evolved into an older and wiser, more grown-up version—much like I have in the last four years 😉
You can find all of the sources and paint colors on my Primary Bedroom Sources page.
Now that the hurricanes are behind us, fall is finally fallin’ here in Florida, and change is in the air 🍂 Looking forward to planning for all of the holidays that are just around the corner! I’ll be gearing up for that next week, and in the meantime, you can catch the latest updates on our Spanish Sanctuary renovation in my Instagram stories.

It is December and this post has stuck with me. I would call that success. I particularly liked the curtains. You are inspiring.
