Heights House Evening Home Tour: Part 2

July 1, 2021 | By Jenna Sue Heights House

Yesterday in Part 1 of our Evening Home Tour, I shared our living room, dining room, kitchen, powder bath and exterior. Let’s take a look at the rest of the house…

Pin

Starting with my favorite room—our bedroom:

Pin

This is where I spend the majority of my day, as it doubles as my office.

Pin

I’ve tried working in other areas of the home but always end up back here. Our bed is just too comfortable to leave!

Pin

Our cat never leaves her spot, either. She’s basically my silent coworker.

Pin

This room gets lots of natural light during the day with five large windows, but at night the mood completely changes.

Pin

This is also where our family gathers each evening for bedtime stories and cuddles.

Pin

So many special, sacred memories here from sleepless newborn nights to sweet toddler conversations.

Pin

And the view from bed has been so much nicer since we finished our closet a few months ago…

Pin

It hasn’t gotten old yet—I’m still so in love with this little corner of our home.

Pin

Mostly, the fact that everything is neatly organized and we no longer have to stare at piles of boxes and clothes.

Pin

Plus, the warm lighting makes the cabinet color so much richer and more elegant. I much prefer this room under the evening glow.

Pin

On the other side of the closet is our bathroom.

Pin

This was one of the first rooms finished in the house, and also one of my favorites!

Pin

Upstairs, we have our playroom/TV room:

Pin

This room only has one small window and gets very little natural light, so at least one set of lights are always on.

Pin

In here we have three sources of light: recessed lights, wall sconces, and a picture light.

Pin

Just the right amount of lighting options for any task or mood!

The fluffy feather chandelier isn’t actually a light at all—just a fun ceiling DIY inspired by a fancy chandelier 🙂

Pin

The only other finished room upstairs is our guest bathroom.

Pin

This was the very first completed room in the house—more than two years old now! Were you around for this reveal?

Pin

Just like our closet, the black walls have much more richness and depth under warm directional lighting.

Pin

This room is another one I prefer with the lights on.

Pin

And last but not least… the nursery:

Pin

The resting place of our little angel. She loves her crib so much, she asks us to tuck her in with her animals multiple times throughout the day, and then directs Alexa to play white noise.

Pin

The girl knows the importance of rest 😉

Pin

And with that, it’s lights off and sweet dreams to all…

Pin

Next week: the first DIY project at the Hacienda Hideaway! I’ll be sharing more over in my Instagram stories starting tomorrow…

Your home is even more beautiful at night. I love how cozy lamps and candles make a space feel. And your ‘silent coworker’ is adorable. Such a photogenic kitty!
