As we settle into our first temporary home in Rio, overwhelmed by all of the kind comments and messages left after the announcement, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our journey and what led us to this point (click to watch):
Since meeting in Vietnam 18 months ago during our own solo backpacking trips, it feels as though we have come full circle, now embarking on this new adventure together. My one regret is not having any video from those life changing months, but this time around I’m making it a priority.
This video is the first of our travel series as we explore the sights, cities and people over the next several months. I still plan to blog and take photos, but I’m also hoping to capture our story in a different way—one that can take you on this journey with us so you can feel as if you’re part of the experience.
Thanks to instagram and snapchat, I’m able to easily share these moments much more frequently, so make sure to follow me there for daily updates in between the posts/vlogs!
Thank you again for being along for the ride. It means a lot to us to know we have so much support from friends all around the world.
More to come from Rio,
Luiza says
Hey Jenna! Hope you’re enjoying Rio!
I just found the pictures from my college field trip last year and imediately tought of you. It was at Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu (REGUA), located at Cachoeiras de Macacu city, 80km from Rio. They have an english website, regua.org, if you want to check it out.
IT’S INSANE. You can see capybaras up close during the day, birds flocking by sundown and alligators at night. The owners are very friendly and concerned about conservation and research. Nice humble accomodations, AND THE VIEW! If you have time, I would absolutely recomend it. 10/10!

Hey Luzia! That place sounds pretty amazing, we have a flight booked to Salvador have to see if we have enough time!

Hi Jenna and Lucas, hope you have the best time ever, wherever you are! And I know you will 🙂
I’m from Brazil and had the chance to live in all the 5 big regions of the country, if you feel like you want a suggestion or something just let me know, I’ll be more than happy to ‘travel’ with you.
For the last 8 years I’ve been living in England, if you fancy a cream tea when over here just drop me a line.
Wish you lots of joy, you two deserve it, you’re making it happen. Congratulations, somehow you fulfill other people’s desire to live the life to the fullest. xxx

It is so inspiring how much travels you have done in your life already. You seem to be constantly on the move and still have time for design. Simply amazing.
I also travel a lot and live currently in Spain. Still I m following all the latest design trends as much as possible!
Keep up the good work! 😉
Cheers
Nick

This is such a sweet video and another one that brings tears to my eyes. I’m glad y’all made it safely to Rio and while I will miss the beyond fabulous DIY and styling posts I’m not going anywhere. Like someone said in a comment to a previous post several of us of course started out just really liking the content of your blog but then over time we have grown to really care about you. I don’t doubt Lucas will grow on me as well 🙂 I follow a bunch of blogs and yours is one of the few that has that “feeling” to it. I really can’t explain it. Most of them I like to read but if I were to unsubcribe tomorrow I really wouldn’t miss them; yours would definitely be a loss.

That means so much to me, Rebecca! Thank you for the kind words <3 xo
