Way back in 2019 after we purchased our living room sofa, I published a roundup of similar linen and slipcovered options, all under $2k. The post has been popular over the years, but most of the sofas have now been discontinued or increased in price, so I figured it was time for an updated roundup!
To this day, I’m often asked about how our sofa is holding up and if we still love it. The answer is a resounding YES—it still looks new after two kids, a cat, and countless gatherings. Despite the light linen fabric and “dry clean only” label, I’ve spot treated, used my Bissell, laundered in our washing machine and dry cleaned, with success every time.
One of the best selling points of these sofas? Most have cushion covers that are reversible and can also be removed for laundering. To me, they’re the perfect mix of effortlessly elegant yet durable and practical for families.

Check out Wayfair & Birch Lane! They have more custom sofa options than probably anywhere else, so you may have luck finding a sleeper sofa that meets your needs/budget there.

Hi! You know, I can’t remember the last time I visited Ikea, but that sofa does look pretty nice! There are certainly a lot more than 30 sofas that could be on this list and I could have kept going. It’s nice that you can actually try out the Hyltarp in person before buying!

I don’t know if I could purchase a sofa without sitting on it. Its such a large purchase (money-wise) and its not easy to return if it doesn’t work out.

Agreed it’s risky, that’s why reviews are so important! There’s so many more options online than in store, so it’s worth it to me to find the right sofa at the right price vs settling for only what’s available locally!
